This new book is fabulously well illustrated with two or three good pictures on each double page spread so it is worth buying for the illustrations alone.

Ghislaine Wood concentrates on the Iconography of Art Deco as well as the tensions produced by the different factors influencing its designers. She explores those different influences like geometric forms, plants, animals, ancient Egypt and the Orient.

At the end of the book there is a useful timeline and a list of informative books on the subject.
