L.S.
Lowry is probably one of the best known of British Artist,
particularly for his 'matchstick men'. However, if you really look
at his pictures of people, even in crowds, they really are not
matchstick men. This beautifully produced book goes through the A
to Z of Lowry and is illustrated with his paintings or drawings on
virtually every page. It is written in a very simple style and it
is possibly aimed at children. However, any lover of Lowry's work
would be pleased to have it.

The Lowry Lexicon
Lowry, as an artist, is closely associated with Salford and
Manchester where he spent his life. His paintings show the streets
and buildings of the two places and the people who lived and
worked in them. This book, again beautifully illustrated and
produced, links each of the paintings reproduced here to their
original location with photographs of the place as it looks today.
The text gives information on the location and how and why Lowry
painted it. This is another excellent and interesting books for
all lovers of Lowry's work.
